The Old West

On one of my son's family visits to us in Las Vegas, we went out to Old Nevada.  Jay and Suz had their picture taken at one of those old time photo studios. I had fun scrapping this picture.  I used Simple Stories Generations papers, Bo Bunny chipboard stickers, Prima Flowers and some fun and funky fringe and upholstery trim my mama gave me.

I had to include a picture of my beautiful wood bench that I use to photograph my projects.  Thanks for looking and I hope you liked my layout.

Leibster Blog Award

I just received the Liebster Blog Award....

The word Liebster is German meaning ‘favorite’ or ‘dearest’. That said, it is with humble thanks to Kay Wallace at @ http://kaywallacescrapbooking.blogspot.com/ that I can now proudly post the Liebster Blog Award "blinkie" on my blog.

In accepting the award, the recipient agrees to:
  • Thank the person who gave the award and link back to their blog (I just did that!)
  • Copy and paste the award to your blog (done!)
  • Reveal the 5 blogs you have chosen to award this honor and why, and then let those bloggers know they have been chosen by commenting on their blogs.
  • Hope they pay it forward by accepting and awarding it to bloggers they would like to honor.
Now I just need to choose 5 blogs that I love and think deserve a bit more TLC and definitely a visit from you. The hardest part is to only choose 5! The only limiting factor for the award is that the blog must have fewer than 200 followers. Here are the blogs that I would like to award the Liebster Award:
So, these are my picks for this award. I think you should go and check them all out to see for yourself and support them by becoming followers!  All of these ladies inspire me with their creativity and they are all members of the MemoryWorks 2012 Design Team!  A very talented groups of scrappers.

My New Scrap Space

These are a few pictures of my scrap supplies.  I hope I can encourage others to see that you don't need to have tons of room in order to have an organized space to store your supplies.

Next to my bed I have repurposed a video cabinet for use in storing ribbons and my cricut machine and cartridges.

In the dressing area of my bathroom, which is open to the bedroom I have place a four foot wide and very tall book case to store the majority of my scrap supples.  I chose to display my antique and vintage cameras on top of the large book case.  With the exception of the Kodak Brownie camera that I got at a yard sale the rest of these cameras belonged to family members.

This is a side view of the large book case

This small book case stores both of my sizzix machines and the dies, my Xyrons and some miscelaneous supplies and small tools.

This is one more view of the large book case.

Storage Ideas

I just wanted to share something that I am using to store some of my ribbon.  Dewayne found this old paper towel holder and restored it.  I was going to use it for paper towels but it is not long enough for todays paper towels so I cut a dowel and decide that it would be cute to use for my ribbon stash that is spooled.

Altered Kraft Bag

We have an orange tree in our front yard.  It has the most delicious oranges I have ever tasted!  I enjoy picking them and giving to friends however, I don't like giving such wonderful oranges in plain boring grocery bags.  I decided today to alter a handled kraft bag that I had.  I used products from the MemoryWorks September Express Kit.  I added some ribbon and a little bling from my stash.

MemoryWorks January 2012 Challenge

I was finally able to get enough of my scrap supplies unpacked and organized so I could participate in this months consultant challenge.  I created a birthday card for my wonderful daughter in law.  The card is made using three different lines of scrapbook supplies.  I used cardstock and stickers from Crate Paper, cardstock from BoBunny and stickers from October Afternoon.  I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and I used my border punch to add a little detail.  The inside of the card is designed so it would hold her giftcard.  Thanks for looking and I hope you like my card.

Ribbons and Bows

My mom and dad came to visit the other day and mom brought me yards and yards of ribbon and lace and bunches of really neat buttons! I am having so much fun going through everything. I really need to get all my scrap stuff unpacked so I can get these wonderful new treasures organized. I can't wait to start creating cards and layouts with these new supples. Some of the button are vintage finds! A friend of my moms inherited these from her mom and can't use them so she passed them on to my mom who is giving me the opportunity to sort through them and keep what I like. There is also a beautiful porcelain doll head to use to make a doll. I have no use for it so I am going to try to find a home for it.
